The 2020 job fairs for graduates were held in Songjiang campus and Pudong campus of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) respectively on October 23 and 30. Wang Junhua (Vice Chair of the University Council and Vice President of SLU) and Zhu Yabing (Vice President of SLU), accompanied by Wang Shuzhen (director of the Admission and Employment Office) attended the fairs and provided site instructions.

University leaders guided the layout and site safety of the job fairs and communicated with the graduates and representatives of the employing units who attended the job fairs. They learned about the talents and job demands of the employers and the job demands of the graduates, and hoped that the employers could actively provide suggestions of the talents cultivation for SLU.

In order to build an effective platform of “two-way selection” between graduates and employers, and to provide more high-quality employment opportunities, the Admission and Employment Office made careful preparations, precisely connected with and selected high-quality employers, such as Shanghai Construction Group, Yihai Kerry and Shanghai Agricultural and Commercial Bank according to the enterprise scale, job requirements and major suitability, and set up a total of 435 booths. The participating organizations are mainly from industries such as accounting, banking, securities, insurance, funds, trade, logistics, real estate, information technology, cultural media, education and medical services, etc. They provided more than 1500 jobs, and recruited over 9,800 people in total. The fairs covered all specialties of SLU and attracted more than 2,000 students .The lists of the employers and job information had be released in advance on SLU employment information service network and the Wechat public platform “Lixin Employment Service”.

The venues of the fairs were even once overloaded, yet maintained good orders. Students queued up long in front of some booths, and some graduates reached preliminary employment agreement with employers. Students carefully prepared job hunting strategies, and accurately submitted resumes to the intended units and positions. In the on-site interviews, most graduates had relatively clear self-planning goals, and most enterprises valued the professional qualities and social practice experiences of job seekers. The scale of the job fairs, the quality of the recruiting enterprises, and the number of the job opportunities had been praised by the graduates. Employers also praised the professional ability and professionalism of SLU graduates.

Facing the severe employment competition in 2020, the Admission and Employment Office has extensively expanded employment channels, and actively connected with and enroll Shanghai Talent Association, Lujiazui Talent Golden Port, Tax Agents Association, Zhongzhi-Xujiahui District Employment Promotion Center and other institutions in the campus recruitment fairs, making a major breakthrough in the scale of the participating units. Some units with co-construction projects with SLU were also enrolled in the fairs, such as Luzhou Bank and Zhonghua Accounting Firm. The Office also coordinated with the Students Affairs Department & Military Service Department of SLU for on-site recruitment consultation, and set up an on-site vocational consultation and professional makeup service desk, which met the personalized needs of graduates, comprehensively tackled employment-related problems, and provided employment guidance and services.

The recruitment fairs were sponsored by the Admission and Employment Office, co-organized by Student Career Development Association, and strongly supported by the CPC Committee Publicity Office, the CPC Committee Security Department, the Department of Logistics and Services, School of Physical Education and Health and other departments. SLU has made concerted efforts to create a good employment environment for the graduates, making the job fairs an effective platform for face-to-face communication between our graduates and employers.
