The Forum on the Belt and Road Five Types of Connectivity was held at SLUAF

On December 8th, the forum on the mechanism and path under the Belt and Road Five Types of Connectivity was held at Songjiang Campus, which was hosted by the Belt and Road Initiative Strategy Institute of SLUAF, and co-hosted by China Academy of “One Belt One Road” Strategy of Beijing International Studies University and Shanghai Institute for Maritime Strategies. Vice President Chen Jingying delivered a welcome speech. Over 30 experts and scholars from Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, Jilin University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan International Studies University, Centre for Tink-tanks Research and Management in Shanghai, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, East China Normal University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and Grand View were invited to the forum. The foothold on launching the international cooperation of the Belt and Road was the topic. Before the forum, Vice President Chen Jingying met Chen Lijun, the researcher from Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, and talked about the future possible collaboration. 

Four sessions were taken during the forum day. Topics are the orientation and implementation approach, as well as institutional innovation and rules building of Belt and Road Initiative in a new era from a macro-strategic view; Key issues on status, opportunities and challenge for China private and small and medium sized enterprises to participate in the Belt and Road construction, practice and experience on mainland’s connectivity, Shanghai plays the leading role and connects Yangtze River Economic Zone; China invests Africa and the evolution of international order, China connects to South Aisa and Southeast Aisa and promotes the Belt and Road political and safety risks in the Middle East, and site selection and performance of China Railway Express’s operation and assembly from a global view; The path of the Belt and Road industrial policy implementation, the mechanism for OBOR countries to cope with climatic changes, how to utilize the resources from Chinese and overseas Chinese to construct the Belt and Road, and how to state the Belt and Road construction in story mode based on the real problems; Suggestions on research projects on the Belt and Road Initiative based the status-quo and have-to-face problems of the Think-tanks construction. Experts and scholars give their insights views on the above frontier topics. 

Vice President Chen Jingying delivered the key-note speech on Institutional Innovation and Rules Building of Belt and Road Initiative, from the view of Shanghai plays the leading role. Other three scholars from SLUAF also gave their speech on the latest progress of SLUAF’s the Belt and Road research project. 

This forum provided the communication platform for leaders, experts and scholars who are engaged in the Belt and Road construction from universities, research institutes and tink-tanks, and disseminated the progress and fruits of our researches on the Belt and Road, thus promote the further academic and research communications and collaborations.
