Overview

Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLUAF) has established partnerships with over 100 universities and institutions in foreign countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, U.K, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Chile, Korea, and Japan.  Through these partnerships it has jointly launched dual-degree programs, student exchange programs and student visiting programs. In 2014, the Erasmus+ Project planned to expand into countries outside the EU for the first time. SLUAF joined Erasmus+ with Crakow University of Economics in Poland providing students, faculty and staff with EU funded opportunities to go abroad for study, teaching and training. In addition, SLUAF also established the Confucius Classroom at the International Business Academy in Denmark.

At its Shanghai campuses, SLUAF has set up English-taught undergraduate programs in International Finance, International Economics and Trade, Business Administration, and Accounting.  With nearly 1,000 international, undergraduate students annually enrolled in short and long-term programs, the university now features a strong international atmosphere.

SLUAF emphasizes a balance of theoretical and practical learning for overseas students and so has established several practice bases overseas.  These ensure that student’s receive the best possible opportunities for work placements and student internships in businesses and industries that are relevant to their major.  We care about the opportunities available to outstanding but financially needy students on their international exchanges, so we offer special subsidies to resolve any economic difficulties faced by such students and their parents.

Some Dual-Degree Programs 

n  University of Rhode Island 2+2 Program, U.S

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance for their first and second academic years and then study in the U.S for the third and fourth academic years. After having passed the examination, students who meet the relevant requirements will obtain a Bachelors degree from both SLUAF and the University of Rhode Island.

n  Wright State University 2+2 Program, U.S

The program structure is similar to that of the University of Rhode Island Program.

n  Long Island University 3+1+1.5 Program, U.S

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance from the first to the third academic year and study in the U.S in the fourth academic year.  Students who meet the relevant requirements may continue to participate in a Masters program at Long Island University.  After completing the required courses, students can expect to obtain a Bachelors degree from SLUAF and a Masters degree from Long Island University.

§  Towson University 1+2+1 Program, U.S

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance in the first academic year, study at Towson University in their second and third academic years and then return to SLUAF for the fourth academic year. Students who meet the relevant requirements will obtain a Bachelors degree from both universities.

n  Rennes School of Business 3+1.5 Program, France

Rennes School of Business in France and Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance jointly carry out a 3+1.5Program. Students who participate in this program will study in SLUAF from the first to the third academic year and study in France for the fourth academic year, with an additional half academic year.  After completing the required courses, students will obtain a Bachelors degree from SLUAF and a Masters degree from Rennes School of Business.

n  University of Missouri 3+1+1 Cooperative Program, U.S

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance from the first to the third academic year and study in the University of Missouri for the fourth academic year. Students who meet the relevant requirements may be directly admitted to an additional 1-year Masters program in the University of Missouri.

n  University of Strathclyde 3+1+1 Program, U.K

The program structure is similar to that of the University of Missouri Program.

n  Keele University 3+1+1 Program, U.K

The program structure is similar to that of the University of Missouri Program.

n  University of Portsmouth 3+1+1 Program, U.K

The program structure is similar to that of the University of Missouri Program.

n  University of Lincoln 3+1+1 or 4+1 Program, U.K

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance from the first to the third academic year and in the University of Lincoln for the fourth academic year. The credits obtained in the fourth academic year shall be transferred back to SLUAF.  Students who meet the relevant requirements may continue to participate in a Masters program at the University of Lincoln, which offers scholarships.  Alternatively, after completing a four-year Bachelors program in SLUAF, students may continue their studies by participating in the Masters program at the University of Lincoln.  Again, scholarships are available.  

n  University of Western Australia 3+1+1 Program, Australia

Students who participate in this program will study in Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance from the first to the third academic year and then take a two-year Masters program at the University of Western Australia.  In their fourth academic year they will work towards first year credits for the University of Western Australia which will also be converted to fourth-year credits at SLUAF.  Students who meet the relevant requirements will obtain a Bachelors degree from SLUAF and a Masters degree from the University of Western Australia.

Some Short-Term Exchange & Communication Programs

n  Student Exchange Programs

Every year, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance selects a group of students for a one-semester overseas student exchange program with the tuition fees being fully or partly exempted. Such students have the chance to obtain special scholarships from the government and the university.  By taking part in such international exchange programs, students are expected to expand their international view, improve their international communication abilities and foster the comprehensive qualities for international career development.  Examples of foreign universities which have student exchange programs with Lixin so far include:

 Student Visiting Programs

In addition to student exchange programs Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance also offers student visiting programs of one or two semester’s duration. Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance has also implemented various summer vacation study trips and study trip programs to famous universities, thus offering students diversified channels for overseas study.

In terms of our international student programs, we offer degree programs in International Finance, International Economics and Trade, International Accounting and International Business which are totally taught in English.  A Chinese language program, which is open to students from beginner to advanced levels of Chinese, is offered and we also feature a summer school program in which students are invited to visit some of the Shanghai financial institutions with which SLUAF enjoys good connections.

Shanghai has stepped up its efforts to develop into an international financial center by increasing its support for financial education. SLUAF, as a university with an emphasis on finance and close proximity to the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, has thus embarked on an exhilarating new phase of development.


International Office

The International Office is responsible for all affairs related to international exchange and co-operation. We provide information, co-ordination, planning, management and services for the university’s international exchanges, the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regional exchanges, as well as co-operation related affairs, including:

International communication and relationships;
International scholar and student exchange programs;
International conferences and competitions;
Foreign Faculty service and administration;
Visa and Travel Permit applications;
