“Norwegian Music in Campus” Art Salon

On october 11th, “2016 Norwegian Music in Campus - Dialogue between Chinese and Western Folk Music” art salon at noon was held in Lixin University. Norwegian musicians Morten Brenne, Vegar V?rdal, and Kenneth Ekornes, as well as outstanding Shanghai folk music performers Tang Yiwei, Dai Lan, and Tu Huabing, had a wonderful dialogue between Chinese and Western Folk Music. This salon was introduced by the Labor Union and Youth League Committee Art Education Center of Lixin and attracted many teachers and students who love music.

The salon started with Norwegian musicians leading all participants to form a circle hand in hand and perform traditional Norwegian dance with the rhythm of music and commands. All participating teachers and students truly felt the magical charms of “borderless music”. Dance of the Yi, a Pipa solo with unique ethnical features performed by Ms. Dai Lan, fully revealed the characteristic charms of Chinese folk music. The Art Ensemble of Lixin University also performed recomposed Beaming with Joy and Jasmine. Such traditional Chinese music incorporated with western music elements refreshed everybody. Norwegian music group presented the beauty of foreign music with their exquisite skills and smooth cooperation.
