On october 22, the Red Cross First Aid Team of Lixin participated in “2016 Shanghai University Red Cross First Aid Competition” jointly held by Red Cross Society of China Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission with both the Faculty Team and Student Team winning the second prize.
Hard training in spare time enabled our faculty and student first-aid teams to have a good command of various on-site first aid skills, such as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, use of AED, hemostasis and bandaging, fracture fixation, and patient moving. With the calm, proficient and accurate operation and good teamwork in the simulated scene of fire, our first-aid team won high praises from judges.
In total, 39 teams from 35 universities in Shanghai participated in this competition. The competition aims to popularize the first aid knowledge and skills, improve teachers and students’ consciousness and capability of self and mutual medical aid in case of natural disaster and emergencies, promote the spirit of humanity, fraternity and devotion of the Red Cross, and stimulate the development of Red Cross campus societies in all universities.
