To deliver better document resource services to all Lixin faculties and students, the school library is now accelerating the integration of its collection resources. By far, the website of the library (http://library.lixin.edu.cn/) has been updated and resumed its operation. Since the library integration management systems are not formally integrated yet, now two portals to “Songjiang Library Collections” and “Pudong Library Collections” are provided separately to retrieve the book collections in Songjiang/Xuhui Campus and Pudong Campus respectively. Library collection information of all campuses can also be inquired through Duxiu Knowledge Base and Chaoxing Mobile Library. All registered faculty, staff and students of Lixin can borrow Chinese and foreign books and bound volumes of periodicals in the libraries in Pudong, Songjiang and Xuhui campuses with their campus cards. Since the book borrowing and returning systems are not integrated yet, now readers have to return book to the specific campus library from which they have borrowed such book. Meanwhile, readers can borrow the maximum number of books (30 books for faculty, staff and graduate students and 15 for undergraduates, associate-degree students and international students) in Songjiang/Xuhui Campus Library and Pudong Campus Library respectively.
The construction of library database undergoes smoothly. Now, the library has already completed the integration of a large proportion of the database of the two campuses and finished the agreement renewal negotiation. Step by step, the library database shall be accessible to all IP addresses within the university (it can be accessed through VPN system outside the university).
