In the 8th National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest held recently, Yuan Chun from Lixin won the second prize in the Mathematics Major Group of Shanghai Competition Area. Wang Haidong and Zhao Yuhang won the first prize in the Non-Mathematics Major Group. Shen Chenyu, Chen Lei, Zhao Yuyao and Zeng Jiyao won the third prize in the Non-Mathematics Major Group. In Shanghai competition area, totally over 1,500 students (including over 1,100 students in the Non-Mathematics Major Group and over 400 students in the Mathematics Major Group) participated in the contest. 30 students (29 in Non-Mathematics Major Group and 1 in the Mathematics Major Group) from Lixin participated in the competition.
The number of prize winners from Lixin in the non-mathematics major group ranked the 7th among 22 participating universities from Shanghai. The number of first prize winners ranked only after East China University Of Science and Technology, Tongji University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
