Recently, Fintech Research Institute completed its preparation for 3-year action plan for think tank development, targeting to become an influential financial and technical think tank featuring venture investment in Shanghai region, provide knowledge service for the sci-tech innovation centers in Shanghai majorly by way of obtaining instructions from provincial and ministerial level leaders and above, establish cooperation network with 100 venture investment companies in 3 years, as well as fintech think tanks with venture investment industry, provide support for discipline and research development, talent training, development of master and doctor stations, extracurricular activities and financing for business startup, promote transformation of scientific research achievements by teachers, and provide conditions for seed–round and angel-round financing to faculties and students.
The contents for think tank construction can be summarized as “accomplishing one core product, doing well in two developments and erecting three platforms”. Accomplishing one core product is to complete featured report for internal reference for decisions by Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, routinely and normally organizing preparation for featured reports for internal reference, reporting them to Shanghai Municipal People's Government and relevant departments of CPC Central Committee and thus obtaining consulting achievements in major decisions. Doing well in two developments is to develop cooperation network and database, erecting three platforms is to develop think tank e-journals, and conduct think tank scholar program, extracurricular activities and entrepreneurship financing program.
