On march 3, a five-person delegation of Chiba University of Commerce, headed by President Sachihiko Harashina, visited Lixin, and was warmly received by Lixin President Tang Haiyan and Vice President Gu Xiaomin. The two parties reviewed the cooperative operation of Sino-Japanese classes in the past decade, and negotiated on how to deepen their cooperation in the fields of undergraduate-level cooperative education, faculty exchange, student exchange, academic research & cooperation, etc.
As pointed out by Tang Haiyan, Chiba University of Commerce has been a close partner of Lixin for years, and the two parties have maintained a solid cooperation basis. In 2003, they launched their cooperative educational program in the specialty of computer information management, and since then the program has made smooth progress and benefited the faculties and students of both sides. The cooperation between the two universities can be extended to student exchange programs, undergraduate dual-degree programs, etc. According to Gu Xiaomin, internationalization represents one of the current development trends of universities, and Lixin has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students’ international vision and always welcome more exchange faculties and students from Chiba University of Commerce to Lixin.
After the meeting, the Harashina delegation attended the welcome party organized by School of International Exchange for overseas students under the dual-degree program of Chiba University of Commerce. Gu Xiaomin attended the welcome party, and gave a speech on behalf of Lixin.
Also present at the meeting were Hu Naijing, Dean of School of Information Management; Zheng Fei, Deputy Dean of School of Information Management; and related personnel from International Exchange Office.
