On the morning of may 17, the opening ceremony of the 5.18 International Museum Day Activities & Museum Culture & Education Exhibition, organized by SLUAF Museum, was successfully held on our Songjiang campus in the presence of Chen Jingying, Vice President, and Xu Jiesheng, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department of Songjiang District Committee. The opening ceremony was hosted by Song Xiaoming, principal of SLUAF Museum, and the faculty and student representatives participated in this event.
As well put by Vice President Chen Jingying, in the speech, SLUAF museum, as an important propaganda and education window and platform of SLUAF, has contributed a lot to our culture and education. This exhibition represents a summary and display of the education work done by SLUAF Museum, and it’s our hope that it will play even more significant role in our culture and education development in the future.
Xu Jiesheng, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department of Songjiang District Committee, donated books to SLUAF students, and presented a speech. He said in his speech that the Songjiang- Cultural Tracing of the Root of Shanghai tour exhibition, held by Songjiang District in combination with International Museum Day series activities, narrated the cultural course of Songjiang in the past years, introduced its humanistic connotations, customs and relationships, and traced the root of its regional culture. He also expressed his hope that, after this exhibition, students would have a more profound understanding of this land, deeply feel the charm of “Humanistic Songjiang”, truly blend into and love Songjiang and contribute to its social, economic and cultural development in the future.
At the opening ceremony, the Fifth “Integrity Manifesto” Essay Contest Awarding Ceremony was also held. Chen Jingying presented the honorary certificates to the winners of the first, second and third prizes; student representative Liu Jiaxin gave a speech entitled “Growing up with Integrity”. The “Integrity Manifesto” Essay Contest has been held for five consecutive years since 2013, and has become an important on-campus integrity culture construction and propaganda program organized by the museum.
After the opening ceremony, escorted by a guide, the faculty and student representatives visited this exhibition. The Museum Culture & Education Exhibition displays the education achievements made by the museum in the past years from many aspects, consists of four units, and will last until 06e 17. The Songjiang- Cultural Tracing of the Root of Shanghai tour exhibition will last until 05 31.
