On March 20, the Academy of Belt and Road of SLU attended the 3rdChina “Belt and Road” Doctoral Forum as invited. At the forum, Li Yanjun, Dean of Academy of Belt and Road, was awarded a second prize, and researchers Cui Bei, Cui Qiyong, Feng Xiaonan and Ma Shiqun were given the Excellent Paper Award. Li Yanjun also served as review guest at the parallel session of “Belt and Road” investment and security at the invitation of this forum. This forum was co-hosted by Beijing International Studies University and the International Think Tank Cooperation Program on Enhancing People-to-People Connectivity along the Belt and Road, jointly undertaken by the China Center for Contemporary World Studies of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the China Academy of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the Center for Central and Eastern European Studies of Ministry of Education, and China-CEECs’ Think Tanks Exchange and Cooperation Network.
The forum explored the path of implementing the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the enhancement of inter-connectivity under the initiative and many other issues from the perspectives of the great power diplomacy in the new era under the leadership of Xi Jinping, the theoretical construction of a community of shared future for all humankind, the construction of international communication and discourse power, investment & security, cultural diplomacy, language cooperation, big data, etc.
As an important academic forum held before the 2nd “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation, this forum has received substantial support from the National People’s Congress, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and many other departments, and attracted more than 300 experts and scholars from above 50 higher education and research institutions, like Beijing International Studies University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, etc.
