The 2018-2019 National Fencing Championship Final was held last week in Songjiang, Shanghai. Shanghai Foil Team members from SLU performed well at the championship. Chen Yining and Fei Xiaotian won second place in the men's team foil junior group event; Wu Junhao and Chen Yining came in third place in the men's team foil adult group event; Chen Yining was placed eighth in the men's individual foil junior group event. Xu Yundi won third place in the women's individual foil junior group event and third place in the women’s team foil junior group event; Xu Mengxu and Xu Yundi won fourth place in the women's team foil adult group event; Xu Mengxu came in fifth in the women's individual foil adult group event. During the event, Zhao Rongshan, Vice President of the university, and Liu Guorong, dean of the School of Physical Education and Health, were at the scene to cheer for SLU team members.
