2020 Fin-tech Innovative Application Case Competition for Universities and Colleges in Yangtze River Delta Held in SLU

In order to strengthen communication and collaboration between different fin-tech fields and to promote domestic and overseas university and students to explore technological breakthroughs and application innovations in the fin-tech frontier fields, the 2020 Final and the Award Ceremony of the Fin-tech Innovative Application Case Competition for Universities and Colleges in Yangtze River Delta was held on October 17th at the Student Center of the Pudong Campus of SLU, and the whole process was broadcast live. Chen Jie (the director of Shenzhen Duohua Industrial Group), Zhang Ting (a teacher of the Business School of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology), Huang Xuanchen (the head of the Business Innovation Section of the Fin-tech Department of the Shanghai Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China), Duan Chuanyong (a partner of Beijing Yingke Shanghai Law Firm), Gao Xijie (the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of SLU) and Ma Fei (the head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management Section of the Teaching Affairs Office of SLU) served as judges of the Competition.

The projects that entered the Final involved many hot topics in the financial field (such as financial fraud risk prevention, smart investment, chain debt, etc.), and applied the front-end technologies of artificial intelligence and blockchain. The six project teams presented and defended their projects in turn, while the judges asked a series of questions on project feasibility, application scenarios, and future prospects. The defending members had in-depth exchanges with the judges on the problems.

Finally, the on-site appraisal and selection led to the list of winners below.

Yin Linsen (the deputy secretary of the general Party branch and deputy dean of the School of Fin-tech; administration work), Chu Hongsu (the deputy secretary of the general Party branch; Party work) and the judges presented awards to 18 winning teams and took a group photo with the winners.

With the in-depth integration of financial and technological innovation, fin-tech has also turned from a brand-new concept to a boom. The Competition builds a financial technology industry-university-research sharing platform, a cooperation exchange platform and an innovation and entrepreneurship platform, helps universities and colleges to deepen fin-tech-related disciplines, assists in the cultivation of talents in the fin-tech industry, promotes cross-school and school-enterprise exchanges of related programs, and comprehensively catalyzes the growth of students’ innovation, practical ability and employment competitiveness.
