The 30th Track Meet of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) was held on the Shangchuan Road Campus on November 11th, 2021. It was attended by Chair of SLU University Council Xie Chao, Vice Chair of SLU University Council and President Yang Li, Vice Chair of SLU University Wen Xuancai, Vice Chair of SLU University and Vice President Wang Junhua, Standing Committee Members of the SLU University Council and Vice Presidents Wen Jingchun, Chen Jie and Zhao Rongshan, Standing Committee Member of the SLU University Council and Head of SLU CPC Committee Office Li Yanshao, Standing Committee Member of the SLU University Council and Director-General of the SLU CPC Committee Organization Department Liu Yongqin, and President of the School Affiliated to SLU Zhang Yushu.
Xie Chao announced the opening of the track meet.
Yang Li delivered the opening speech. Shanghai men’s volleyball coach Shen Qiong was invited to attend the opening ceremony, and was appointed the sports ambassador of SLU. Yang conferred the letter of appointment on Shen, and Shen presented with a flag for SLU’s Volleyball Association. The opening ceremony was facilitated by Zhao Rongshan.
320 girls from various schools of SLU stood in groups to welcome the teachers and students as they marched into the sports field. Teachers and students from every school/college of SLU and the faculty members from every department of SLU chanted the slogan as they marched in parade, presenting an image of high spirit. Spectacular shows were put on for the opening ceremony, such as the show “Never Forget Why You Started” performed by SLU’s dance troupe, and the show performed by the high-level aquatic team from the SLU School of Physical Education and Health. And the broadcast gymnastics competition revealed the most positive and vibrant part of SLU students.
A variety of contests were held at the track meet, such as the 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, women’s 800 metres, men’s 1,500 metres, 4×100-meter relay, high jump, long jump, and shot put (5kg for boys and 4kg for girls) for the students, and the track and field events, team events and fun events for the young and middle-age faculty members. Participants in the contests included the students from 14 SLU schools and colleges, such as the School of International Finance and Economics and the Pan Xulun Honors College, as well as the trade union members from 18 departments of SLU, such as the general administration department and the Lixin Accounting Press.
