On October 10th, a delegation from Chiba University of Commerce in Japan, led by Takako Hashimoto, Director of the International Exchange Center, and Asako Tanaka from the Academic Affairs Department, visited SLU. Yao Jie, Head of the International Office and Dean of the School of International Exchange, along with Deputy Directors and Deputy Deans Guo Huijun and Shen Yuehong, participated in the reception.
Yao Jie welcomed the representatives from Chiba University of Commerce on behalf of SLU, introduced the current internationalization of our university's education, summarized the cooperation experience between the two institutions in the fields of Sino-Japanese cooperative education and double-degree programs for international students in China, and expressed expectations for further establishing a high-quality cooperation model between the two parties. Takako Hashimoto introduced the development history, university profile, and international cooperation projects of Chiba University of Commerce. Both parties discussed the renewal of the cooperation memorandum between the two universities and expressed their intention to carefully summarize the cooperation experience and promote the cooperation level and expand the fields of cooperation on this basis.
Accompanied by the International Office, the representatives from Chiba University of Commerce visited SLU's Wenxiang Road campus, Shangchuan Road campus, the Chinese Accounting Museum, and the school history museum, gaining a deep understanding of the school's educational journey, characteristics, and campus environment. After the meeting, the foreign delegates met and exchanged with Japanese students studying at our school under a double-degree cooperation program.
Chiba University of Commerce, founded in 1928, is a private university in Japan that began offering university education in 1950. The cooperation between our school and Chiba University of Commerce dates back to 2003. The two parties have cooperated in launching a higher vocational education program in big data technology and have also carried out exchange student programs, double-degree programs for international students in China, and short-term student exchange programs.
