In the teaching work, Wang Dan carefully learns professional theoretical knowledge, ceaselessly improves her professional skills, constantly summarizes teaching experience, and energetically strives to improve her skills and methods of imparting knowledge to students. Always actively engaging in the reform of teaching methods and the innovation of teaching tactics, she attaches great importance to the techniques, art and language of teaching, with the aim of continuously enhancing the classroom teaching effect; her long-term explorations and practice have helped her accumulate rich experience and win the unanimous recognition and praises of students. Besides winning the first prize in “Classroom Teaching Contest for Young Teachers”, she has also been granted “High-quality Teaching Award” for multiple times.
Wang Dan is also an expert in the field of practical education, and the students instructed by her always win all kinds of awards each year. A student instructed by her won the first prize in the ERP Sand Table Simulation Contest in Shanghai in 2016, and is about to take part in the national finals of the National “Seentao Cup” ERP Sand Table Simulation Contest on behalf of Shanghai. The students instructed by her in 2009 and 2008 respectively won the third prize and first prize of the “National Enterprise ERP Sand Table Simulation Contest”.
Even during holidays, she’s still busy with teaching work at the frontline, actively participates in the laboratory construction of the School of Accounting, guides students in manual accounting experiments and computerized accounting experiments, and serves as a judge in the accounting knowledge contest of the school. She also instructs students in summer social practice, creates internship and employment opportunities for them, gives academic lectures, and instructs them in scientific entrepreneurship projects. The student paper instructed by her in 2013 was selected by the university and sent to participate in the 13th “Challenge Cup” Extracurricular and Academic Contest in Shanghai.
Priority of moral education, outstanding in both moral integrity and professional competence
Having a profound understanding of the importance and difficulty of “imparting knowledge and educating people”, she has always taken “talent cultivation” as the primary responsibility at work, in learning and in dealing with people; based on the teaching of professional courses, she also educates students about dreams, beliefs, learning goals, professional ethics and so forth, and treats them with sincerity. In daily life, she cares deeply about their learning, life, job selection and other problems, timely communicates with them, and strives to offer them as many guidance and assistance as possible. In the period of serving as the head teacher of the International Accounting Class of class 2016, she always carefully fulfilled her responsibilities, tried to understand students’ learning, life and ideological trends through various channels, guided them with regard to career planning, learning planning and so forth, and became their close friend. In 2010, she won the honorary title of “Teacher's Professional Ethics Models”.
Assiduous study, profound accomplishment
For years, she has actively participated in all kinds of academic research activities, paid close attention to hot topics in economics, finance, and social science, and constantly improved her research level through massive in-depth practical surveys, researches and comparative analyses. In recent years, she has published many papers on several core journals, actively taken part in the teaching reform and teaching task research organized by the university, participated in two major projects supported by the Ministry of Finance, completed works in the amount of more than 30,000 words, and compiled four textbooks as editor-in-chief or co-editor. These activities have not only broadened her research field, but also furthered her teaching depth and improved her teaching level. In 2012, the teaching result under her charge, titled Research on and Practice of the Curriculum Teaching Reform of Accounting Information System, won the second prize for outstanding teaching result of the university; in 2011, her teaching plan, titled Accounting Information System, won the excellent teaching plan award of the university, and the textbook Accounting Information System compiled by her as editor-in-chief won the excellent textbook award of the university.
In the past two decades, she has always held fast to the frontline of teaching and research, and her moral integrity, professional competence and selfless contributions have set her up as a typical model of advanced teachers in the new era for our female faculty and staff.
