On January 10th, Prof. Bertrand Hamaide (Vice-Rector - International Relations, UCLouvain Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles) visited Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (hereinafter referred to as SLU). Prof. Gu Xiaomin (Vice President of SLU) and the Head of the International Office attended the meeting.
Prof. Gu Xiaomin welcomed the visit of Prof. Bertrand, and introduced the latest information about SLU (including the scale of students, the professional programs, and the scientific research) in the past six months. Prof. Bertrand introduced that Université Saint-Louis – Bruxelles was established in 1958 and mainly focuses on liberal arts and social sciences. He hopes to establish academic and scientific research cooperation with SLU in the economic and financial fields.
The two parties reached a consensus that the two universities will deepen the exchange student programs, and work together to promote and implement teaching exchange and joint research projects.
SLU and Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles signed a memorandum of understanding in 2018 to carry out all-round cooperation in student exchanges, teacher visits, scientific researches and teaching. At the end of the 2016-2017 school year, the joint conference of Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles adopted a plan document for the merger with the (Belgium) Université catholique de Louvain. It is expected that at the end of 2020, Université Saint-Louis – Bruxelles will complete the examination and approval of relevant government documents and formally merge into Université catholique de Louvain.
