Against the background of Internet +, how to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning and develop the teaching activities loved by them is a major problem facing teachers in universities and colleges. To help teachers solve the problem of designing online teaching activities and further improve their online teaching ability and quality, on the afternoon of April 30, the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development invited Jiang Xiaodong, Dean of Department of Biology of East China Normal University, to give a report titled How to Make Your Online Teaching Popular - Design and Practice of Online Teaching Activities. This training was broadcast live by Tencent Meeting, and more than 50 teachers of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) watched the lecture and interacted with the lecturer online.
The lecture shared the design concepts of online teaching with supporting service with learning as the core: 1) introduce the concept of beating the game and develop level-based tests to guide students to take the initiative to accept challenges; 2) introduce the concept of sharing and develop shared reading to help students read English textbooks; and 3) develop a series of new online and offline teaching activities featuring research reports, quick-test roll calls, picture reports, public Q&A activities, open homework, virtual honors and so on. The lecture is a good reference for SLU's teachers to design online teaching activities which are based on the web-based teaching platform. They gave positive feedbacks and discussed and exchanged thoughts after the meeting.
