Recently, in the 2019 Shanghai University Student of the Year selection organized by the CPC Shanghai Municipal Education and Health Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Yu Senle of SLU was awarded the title of 2019 Shanghai University Student of the Year.
During the COVID epidemic, as one of the post-00s generation, Yu Senle gave to the community by devoting himself to the fight against the epidemic. He was a busy volunteer in different areas of Shanghai, such as the facial mask workshop, the entrance of the community, and the highway intersection. This emerging young man who is fearless, passionate, determined and bold has also won numerous praises. On this year’s Lei Feng Day, the official WeChat and Weibo accounts of People's Daily praised him for his practice of the Lei Feng Spirit during the epidemic. Xinhua News Agency, Xinhuanet, China News, Wenhui Daily, The Paper and other media also widely reported his story as a volunteer fighting against the epidemic and described him as a new force in the fight against the epidemic.
Yu Senle is a Finance major of the high-level athlete class of 2019 and a national first-level fencer. In addition to sports training, as an active member to join the Party, he has actively participated in various campus activities and has been enthusiastic and helpful, winning unanimous praises from teachers and students. At the beginning of the summer vacation, Yu Senle signed up for the summer vacation social practice activities for college students in Caolu Township, and is currently an intern at the Ethics Promotion Office of the Party Building Office.
