The 2021 Joint Management Committee Meeting on the China-US Joint Education Programme Held

On December 23rd, 2021, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) remotely held the joint management committee meeting on the financial engineering programme (a China-US joint programme). The meeting was attended by  Vice President Chen Jie, Head of International Office Tu Liping, Dean of the SLU School of Fin-tech Yin Linsen, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Fin-tech Chu Hongsu, Provost and Senior Executive Vice President of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Fadi Deek, Dean of the Martin Tuchman (MT) School of Management of NJIT Oya Tukel, and Associate Dean of the MT School of Management Zhipeng Yan. The meeting was chaired by Zhipeng Yan.

In her speech, Chen expressed her cordial greetings to the faculty of NJIT, appreciated the hard work and contribution that SLU and NJIT had jointly made in delivering various programmes, and introduced the effort to build an international brand for SLU as a key part of its Fourteenth Five-Year Plan. She expected the two sides to deepen cooperation and communication and carry out various cultural and exchange programmes to nurture more outstanding bilingual talents who have good communication skills and a good understanding of both cultures, specialize in fin-tech and therefore would become goodwill messengers for China and the US.

Fadi Deek also appreciated in his speech the concerted efforts made by both sides to deliver the joint programmes, and expected both sides to enhance collaboration and communication and continue to jointly develop master’s degree programmes to bring friendship and win-win outcomes to both sides in their international communication.


Yin Linsen reported the operations of the programmes for the year 2021, covering admissions, instructional operations and management, financial management, student feedback and existing problems. Oya Tukel reported the faculty and curriculum on the side of NJIT in relation to programme operations.


Tu Liping and Oya Tukel exchanged their ideas over a range of key areas, such as faculty and student reciprocal visits, short-term exchange programmes, master’s degree programmes and establishment of centers for industrial development, academic studies and scientific research. They also agreed on the next steps for specific tasks of bilateral programmes.


With the sustainable development of international joint education, China and the US will see even closer and more diverse cooperation, promote cultural communication between their universities and colleges, promote the friendship of the people on both sides and jointly embrace a new future. The next joint management committee meeting is scheduled to be held in December 2022.
